Collection: Abel Naborlhborlh

Abel is a highly regarded painter around Kakadu and Oenpelli. He has helped with several different projects to get his local art recognized around Australia and around the world. He was taught how to paint by his uncle a renowned artist by the name of Joshua Bangarr. He often can be seen painting various different images including yawk-yawks (mermaids), ginga (crocodiles) and his family dreaming, the Kakadu plum.

Abel has been a part of an amazing project called Indigital, an app which brings Aboriginal art to life. Abel has created a piece named Modjarrkki Dreaming, a story about his childhood, hunting crocodiles.

He also partook in painting a mural on the Jabiru Community Hall, which can be seen next to the Foodland supermarket in the town center.
